What are the advantages of using a weed barrier?

Weed barriers are a cost-effective and environmentally-friendly method of eliminating weeds from your garden. The durability of our products at Gardener’s Edge means that you will not be frequently replacing them or turning to pesticides. Additionally, the permeability of our ground covers ensure that your plants are getting the necessary nutrients they need to flourish.

What type of barrier should I choose for my garden?

At Gardner’s Edge, we have a variety of barriers to ensure that your wants and needs are met. For gardeners who are as keen to keep their garden flourishing as they are to eliminate weeds, our Woven Landscape Fabric ground cover is permeable to all the necessary nutrients your plants need to stay healthy. Our Biodegradable Paper Mulch is an excellent alternative or augment to traditional ground covers and naturally decomposes at the seasons end, making it a great option if you are a sustainability-driven gardener.

What type of barrier should I use for hardscaping and sloped areas?

Our thicker 5oz Woven Landscape Fabric is ideal for hardscaping tasks such as gravel walkways, ensuring weeds don’t sprout through and preventing soil erosion. This also includes sloped areas: for best results and allow 3” of depth below the soil line and dig deeper pockets for any larger rocks that will be used as anchor points, apply the landscape fabric and secure with pins with overlaps heading downwards, and ensure a tight join with the edging of your choice before applying your stone product or wood chip mulch on top.
