How can I maintain my garden tools?

While it's inevitable that well-loved garden tools will begin to show signs of wear, there are a few things you can do to keep them looking and feeling like new. You can start by giving your tools a good rinse with a hose, then dip them in a diluted solution of household bleach and let dry. Wooden handles can take a thin layer of linseed oil. Cleaning your tools regularly is incredibly important because it sterilizes them, which can eliminate the spread of disease from plant to plant.

How should I store my garden tools?

To prolong the life of your tools, it's important to never leave them out in the elements. Moisture — from rain or even from morning dew — can lead to rust. We recommend storing your tools in a dry, well-ventilated shed. A pegboard also does wonders for organizational purposes.
