Sturdy rake, long handle...
2019-06-14
This is a good quality rake. Came in 2 pieces, but was easy to put together. I like the bright orange and the sturdy but very lightweight fiberglass handle, which is also quite long (good for me -- I'm tall, but someone shorter might find it a big unwieldy). My only complaint, and the reason I'm giving 4 stars not 5, is that the description says it's 18" wide and it's not -- it has 18 tines, but the width is 15". Not a huge difference, but a bit misleading.

A very nice rake!

I wanted a rake that would fit me. I'm only 5'3", so I don't want a 6 1/2' rake. This rake is a good length and light weight. It has a comfortable size handle, not too wide. I can use it for quite a while, without my hand aching. I am very pleased with it.

I am a professional landscaper and have a half dozen rakes in my arsenal. Just received my MSRC-218 and love the high-end quality and build materials. This is my third purchase from A.M. Leonard and I could not be happier. The lifetime warranty and great pricing is a no-brainer. A.M. Leonard's quality is so much higher than those box stores! Keep up the great work.

Spring Rake

Finally someone made a rake for people who use a rake everyday. This rake is very strong and sturdy, the tines stay tight and don't flop around after a few weeks of use. Will purchase again, if necessary.

A.M. Leonard Spring Rake

This rake is tops for me. I have the composite handle and two wooden handle versions. The metal head on this rake has far outlasted the other brands I have tried. Worth the price.

I break wooden handled tools, so finding a strong rake with a composite handle was important. This is a great general purpose leaf rake. They ship it in two boxes. If you have heavy, wet leaves, or want to dethatch for seeding, etc. then I'd go for the forestry rake (the composite handle fits it, but you have to order that extra). I bought both.

I bought it on the advice of my sales representative Shirley who I trust completely, she is a great sales rep. I am a part time business, have not used it as much as some of the other businesses but so far I love it. Well built item!

Leonard Spring Rake
2011-06-25
I started using this rake in my business as an alternative to the Ames spring rake. Overall, the Leonard spring rake is built better as it has a thicker handle and two bolts with nylon lock nuts attaching the head to the handle. It does, however, seem like the steel could be better quality as the tines and the spring seem to break sooner than they should.

great rake for professionals

This rake has strong tines and a durable wooden handle. Unlike other rakes, the screws and bolts do not gradually work their way out, but instead stay in place. As the manager of a college campus this is our favorite leaf rake yet!

Spring rake

We like the AM Leonard spring rakes and will continue to purchase them. They seem to hold up to our rigorous use quite well and better than other similiar brands. The strength and durability of the spring are the key to the rakes longevity. Once enough tines break off or the spring weakens we replace them.

A M Leonard Rake

Things I like about the rake is the spring is replacable, the steel is more durable than plastic so you can put a lot of force into raking. The main problem I have with the rake is the cross brace, that all the tines go thru and the spring connects, needs to be a thicker guage steel. This is where the rakes fail long before the rest of the rake is worn out.
