DeWitt designed this mesh barricade to be effective, yet safe for both animals and the environment. They make this netting by bonding strands of polyethylene together, leaving 1/4-inch openings. This UV-treated material lasts longer than standard mesh barricades.
To use, drape the netting over vegetation. Be sure to elevate the netting approximately 6 inches above plants where possible. Secure the netting by setting anchor pins along the edges to anchor it into the ground. Alternatively, you can gather the draping and secure it around the trunks of fruit trees using zip ties. When protection is no longer needed, store the netting away from sunlight. This extends the life of the product, allowing you to use it for more than one season!
