I just wanted to add another review, now that my plants are growing. Well, let me tell you, they're REALLY growing. This year my plants are as tall as I am. I didn't do anything differently except use the tomato craters. Obviously they've made a huge difference in the growth of the plants. All my neighbors are pea-green with envy.
I bought these years ago from another company that charged more money for them. Yes, they are expensive, but I ordered more this year because of the success I have had. They are easy to use, unlike others I have tried, and they allow easy watering/feeding of the roots without getting the whole plant wet (we get blight here). Since I have used these I have had the best tomato harvests ever. I love the weed control aspect also. What a great design and simple solution.
I originally bought the Tomato Crater for my tomatoes. When they thrived, I bought more for my peppers. When the peppers thrived, I got more for my cucumbers. I now wonder how I got along without them.
I am very happy with the tomatoe craters. They are easy to apply to small plants - the design of a snap together system is a definite advantage. They are sturdy and make watering a breeze. My plants look great!
The craters really direct the water to the base of the plant and they seem to like that. I have a bunch of tomatoes growing already after only two weeks in the ground. So I'm very pleased. They're easy to assemble. Shipping was lightning fast too. All in all I'm very satisfied with them.
