Leonard Spring Rakes

Our design is stronger and lasts longer!

The durable reinforced spring tine rake comes with a large 1-inch diameter 54-inch long handle, in your choice of hardwood or fiberglass composite. Steel tines are continuous one side to the other and are reinforced by a spring steel brace. Strong durable two bolt assembly won't come loose. Lifetime warranty.

  • Wood Handle: Our 1-inch diameter hardwood handles offer 10% more handle mass than the standard rake handle. Plus, you'll notice it provides a more comfortable grip.
  • TuffFlex™ Composite Handle: Molded poly composite — The most durable handle option, if you don't mind a little added weight.
  • Tuff-Strong™ Fiberglass Handle: Fiberglass with a resin veil to prevent splintering. This choice provides the highest strength with the least amount of weight. Plus a built-in hook opening for easy hanging!

Product Benefits

  • 1" diameter, not 7/8" (or even less) gives easier grip, less hand fatigue, and greater durability
  • 54" long, not 48" for more comfort and longer reach
  • The head isn't just held in place with a screw or a pin, the bolt goes all the way through the handle. This one will just never get loose and sloppy
  • The tines are reinforced with an additional spring, to help you 'dig in' to a pile of wet leaves when you have to, without damaging the rake
  • Rake leaves, grass, or other debris, lightly de-thatch your lawn, level mulch or wood chips, clean out beds, pull pruning clippings out of shrubbery like taxus (Japanese yew), or use upside down after seeding grass to mix the seed in the top layer of soil

5 Stars Superior Quality

I am a professional landscaper and have a half dozen rakes in my arsenal. Just received my MSRC-218 and love the high-end quality and build materials. This is my third purchase from A.M. Leonard and I could not be happier. The lifetime warranty and great pricing is a no-brainer. A.M. Leonard's quality is so much higher than those box stores! Keep up the great work.

5 Stars Spring Rake

from PA wrote :

Finally someone made a rake for people who use a rake everyday. This rake is very strong and sturdy, the tines stay tight and don't flop around after a few weeks of use. Will purchase again, if necessary.

This rake is tops for me. I have the composite handle and two wooden handle versions. The metal head on this rake has far outlasted the other brands I have tried. Worth the price.

I break wooden handled tools, so finding a strong rake with a composite handle was important. This is a great general purpose leaf rake. They ship it in two boxes. If you have heavy, wet leaves, or want to dethatch for seeding, etc. then I'd go for the forestry rake (the composite handle fits it, but you have to order that extra). I bought both.

I bought it on the advice of my sales representative Shirley who I trust completely, she is a great sales rep. I am a part time business, have not used it as much as some of the other businesses but so far I love it. Well built item!

Great rake. Love the fiberglass handle. also like it for the 18 inch width. well built long lasting and the orange color keeps the crew from leaving it behind.

4 Stars Leonard Spring Rake

from NV wrote :

I started using this rake in my business as an alternative to the Ames spring rake. Overall, the Leonard spring rake is built better as it has a thicker handle and two bolts with nylon lock nuts attaching the head to the handle. It does, however, seem like the steel could be better quality as the tines and the spring seem to break sooner than they should.

We like the AM Leonard spring rakes and will continue to purchase them. They seem to hold up to our rigorous use quite well and better than other similiar brands. The strength and durability of the spring are the key to the rakes longevity. Once enough tines break off or the spring weakens we replace them.

5 Stars great rake for professionals

from NY wrote :

This rake has strong tines and a durable wooden handle. Unlike other rakes, the screws and bolts do not gradually work their way out, but instead stay in place. As the manager of a college campus this is our favorite leaf rake yet!

Rakes work ok, but do not stand up to everyday use for longer than 2 weeks

5 Stars great rake

the order was on time with all the parts the cost of the rakes was a great price these rakes are easy to put together and have held up doing alot of spring clean up work

4 Stars A M Leonard Rake

from PA wrote :

Things I like about the rake is the spring is replacable, the steel is more durable than plastic so you can put a lot of force into raking. The main problem I have with the rake is the cross brace, that all the tines go thru and the spring connects, needs to be a thicker guage steel. This is where the rakes fail long before the rest of the rake is worn out.
