The good news is that this cold frame looks as through it's going to be ideal for my garden in So. New England. The bad news is that it took so long to assemble because the instructions are so terrible. It comes with instructions in German, but the English version is available as a download. The English version is harder to understand than the German. Assembling, disassembling and re-assembling over and over took well over 8 hours, as well as a special clamp and, finally a hacksaw. Way too much work.
I did, in fact, write a lengthy review months ago about this Juwel coldframe, and it was quite positive, in stark contrast to the one and only review that still graces this website. Can't understand why it was not posted. I emailed to inquire why my review did not appear, weeks after I took great care to describe its successes in my garden, and after checking many times to see if it had appeared, but NO ONE ANSWERED ME. Is this typical of A.M. Leonard's customer service? My coldframe is stored in my shed just now, since it's high summer, but it will be a valuable tool this coming fall and next spring.
I was so excited to finally have a cold frame to start growing early this spring! But was extremely disappointed in how light-weight the materials were. Only 2 wire anchors were provided to hold it in place. With the 20-30 mph winds we have had lately, gusting more sometimes in the spring, it would never stay together. Also, it was a struggle to remove the plastic top to just reveal the screen. Poor materials and poor design. Unfortunately I have to return it.
