The bags appear to be sturdy and held up well for the first season of planting. Rain, wind, watering and plant growth did not appear to have any effect on them. When the growing season was over and I cleaned the bags I noted roots had woven themselves into the bottom of the bag. I washed the bags, sun dried and are now stored for next season. I need to get two to three seasons on them to make worth the cost.
I purchase 4 grow bags last spring to try out. I have had continual problems with moles and voles in my raised bed garden, so I thought these would be worth a try. The bags were easy to fill and maintain. Super easy to get the potatoes out, all I had to do was turn it over and run my hands through the dirt. Not one damaged potato. The only issue I had was the fact that the bags dried out super fast, and we had a very hot summer here in Western NC. Since, I didn't water adequately, my yield was a little low and from what I have read, that is a common problem. I will definitely be using them next year, and I will be watering much more often in hopes of a better yield.
I purchased several of these bags and have grown potatoes, squash, cucumbers, and melons in them. They work great and are simple to use. Very low maintenance and no weeding!
